The Director of Operations will coordinate and oversee all operations at DSS GAMES, while managing and mentoring their team members. The specific duties of the position include overseeing the printing of all games, management of inventory, recruiting and hiring of new staff, and the coordinating of various work with the Company’s bookkeeper, Accountant and Attorney

Reports To: PARTNERS

Direct Reports: Operations Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and Sales & Operations Assistant 

 

Exempt, full-time position with benefits


Operations & Systems – 40%

  • Develop and refine company-wide systems for how the Company conducts its business 
  • Monitor existing Company processes and analyze their effectiveness
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives for the Company to improve overall productivity, efficiency and quality assurance
  • Document and publish new and revised procedures and systems for the Company to follow to insure best practices
  • Manage company-wide budgets and forecasts 

Production – 20%

  • Oversee timely printing and delivery of product at or below budget
  • Oversee timely shipping of product to retailers and distributors world-wide 
  • Work through high-level production issues with printers
  • Working with Production Coordinator, negotiate print pricing with sign-off from Partners
  • Manage current relationships with printers and various suppliers  
  • Identify new printers and suppliers for the Company 

    Inventory Management – 15%

    • Oversee systems to manage inventory world-wide to insure proper inventory levels on all products at all times
    • Create sustainable systems to effectively manage inventory
    • With input from sales, propose re-prints to Partners in a timely manner to maintain stock levels
    • Manage working relationships with distributors word-wide


    HR – 15%

    • Oversee recruiting and hiring process company-wide 
    • Manage onboarding of new hires 
    • Working with Partners, develop and implement policies to grow and continually improve company culture
    • Handle employee issues working with Partners  
    • Ensure company handbook, benefits sheet and any other HR documents are current


    Accounting & Legal - 10%

    • Oversee tax-related compliance with various government agencies worldwide 
    • Manage off-site Company bookkeeper
    • Point person to Company’s Accountant for the filing of government tax returns and the like 
    • Point person to Company’s trademark attorney for the filing and maintenance of trademarks 


    Requirements 

  • College graduate 
  • 6+ years relevant operations experience
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple projects
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great at managing people and delegating 
  • Comfortable in small, casual office environment

  • Preferred 

  • Some experience with manufacturing
  • Experience managing inventory levels in multiple locations
  • Experience in a start-up-type environment
  • Preferably needs more cowbell
